5 Impactful Ways To Detox Your Mind, Body, & Spirit, Daily.

We encounter situations on a daily basis that create more stress in our lives than most of us care to make time for. So what are we willing to make time for? For some of us, taking a vacation is not an option. For others, taking a day off of work can add more stress. How? Some people will try and make a "to-do" list and cram every de-stressful thing they can think of, on that day.


It is important to add detoxifying methods to your daily routine, minimizing the potential for stress. This is a great way to optimize your immune system to combat toxins, fight illness and disease.


  1. Deep breathing. This is a simple thing to do when situations become so overwhelming that you can bearly think. Sit for about five or ten minutes. Focus on your diaphragm by placing your hands on your stomach, approximately 2 inches above your navel. Take a deep breath. Your hands should rise as oxygen fills your diaphragm. Hold your breath for 10 to 15 seconds, then release the breath. Repeat this method about 5 times.

  2. Move & Shake! If you sit in front of a computer to work or sit for long periods of time, get up! If you are able, stand up and raise your arms above your head and shake them vigorously. Do the same for your feet and legs. This will increase the blood flow to your extremities. Allowing your body to eliminate toxins.

  3. Stretch. Yoga poses and moves can be done almost anywhere. While sitting or standing in place, you can raise your arms, bend forward, and touch your toes. If touching your toes is possible. If not, reach for your knees. There are many ways to stretch. Sit up on the edge of your chair and place both hands on one side of the chair. Turn your body in that direction to gently stretch your core muscles. You can also reach over your head using one arm and lean to the opposite side. Whatever you do on one side, repeat the same task on the other side to stay in balance.

  4. Power down your electronics. Give your mind a break! According to some experts, we have approximately 6,000 thoughts a day. This is without our electronic devices. When we add in these devices and encounter others, our thoughts are amplified. Therefore, it is important for us to step away from our computers and put down our phones for at least 2 to 3 hours a day. This can be done in 15 to 30-minute increments. Any information on these devices can wait. Your mind is a treasure that should be protected at all times. Therefore, it is important what you put in it.

  5. Drink more water. According to scientists, our bodies are made up of approximately 75% water. In order to assist our bodies with eliminating toxins daily, we must increase our intake of water. Please understand that water is no longer water when you add a sweetener. Flavored water should not be considered as an alternative either.

These simple things you can add to your daily routine to help you maximize your health and minimize stress.
