Balancing Our Choices OF Foods Is Key.


Many people strive to have a six-pack ab waistline. There are some who would rather enjoy the alcoholic substance from the six-pack in the fridge. Whichever you choose, there are simple ways to enjoy both without overindulging while maintaining a healthy waistline.


As we grow older, it becomes more challenging to maintain a healthy weight. Going to extreme measures is not always a good choice. What may be helpful is to increase the foods that will allow you to eliminate the ones that can cause weight gain. As we approach the holiday season, there are more opportunities for us to eat foods that are high in sugar, fat, and calories. The balance is to incorporate foods that are high in fiber.


Here are six ways to help with maintaining a healthy waistline...

  1. Increase your water intake and limit the amount of alcohol.

  2. If you bake, reduce the amount of sugar that the recipe calls for.

  3. Add flaxseed or chia seeds to your recipes. These two ingredients are high in fiber.

  4. Replacing butter or margarine with grapeseed oil, olive oil, or sunflower seed oil are excellent choices.

  5. Reduce your portion sizes.

  6. Increasing your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables is key to balancing a healthy diet.


It is important to us to enjoy the meals we love. However, it has to be more important to love ourselves more than the food that causes our waistlines and our health to grow out of control.
